Apple has 98% market share—in Antartica in June
Apple has 98% market share—in Antartica in June: "Posted by Dennis Sellers
Mac OS X was the operating system of choice for 98% of the population of Antarctica in the middle of this year, according to StatCounter, which tracks global web analytics. That figure is now down to 40% for November, though the site doesn’t explain why."
Who cares?

Nine ways of looking at a Google phone
Nine ways of looking at a Google phone: "The purported Google phone. Photo: Cory O'Brien

Mac OS X 10.6.2 update breaks Hackintosh netbooks
Mac OS X 10.6.2 update breaks Hackintosh netbooks: "Netbooks offer a much more cost-effective hardware platform than the pricey Apple hardwareNovamente a Apple com a paranoia do CONTROLO.
Users who want the Mac OS X experience on a netbook budget have figured out how to hack the Mac OS X operating system to force it to work on netbooks based on the Intel Atom processor. The latest update to Snow Leopard removes support for the Atom processor and puts an end to the “hackintosh” - at least for now."

Investor Carl Icahn quits Yahoo board
Investor Carl Icahn quits Yahoo board:What's Up Carl?
Apple Discontinues ZFS Project
Apple Discontinues ZFS Project: "Zaurus writes 'Apple has replaced its ZFS project page with a notice that 'The ZFS project has been discontinued. The mailing list and repository will also be removed shortly.' Apple originally touted ZFS as a feature that would be available in Snow Leopard Server. A few months before release, all mention of ZFS was removed from the Apple web site and literature, and ZFS was notably absent from Snow Leopard Server at launch. Despite repeated attempts to get clarification about their plans from ZFS, Apple has not made any official statement regarding the matter. A zfs-macos Google group has been set up for members of Apple's zfs-discuss mailing list to migrate to, as many people had started using the unfinished ZFS port already. The call is out for developers who can continue the forked project.' Daring Fireball suggests that Apple's decision could have been motivated by NetApp's patent lawsuit over ZFS."

Apple Unveils the Magic Mouse
Apple Unveils the Magic Mouse:

Today Apple revealed the Magic Mouse — the world’s first multi-touch mouse. Inspired by the multi touch technology in the iPhone and trackpad on modern MacBooks, Magic Mouse is the zero-button, gesture-sensing, wireless pointing-device of your dreams.

Mac Pro to get exclusive on six-core, 32nm Xeons?
Mac Pro to get exclusive on six-core, 32nm Xeons?: "
Apple may have a temporary exclusive on Intel's fastest workstation Xeons early next year, a purported leak argues tonight. An unnamed source says Apple is readying a Mac Pro based on the Xeon version of Intel's Gulftown six-core architecture and that the Mac builder would have a short exclusive for the processors, launching its own workstations in the winter while everyone else would have to wait until the spring. What configurations would ship aren't known by the MacBidouille tipster.... "
